Into Reality & Mar i Cel

After moving more than 1.6 million viewers, the iconic Catalan musical Mar i cel, a classic by the Dagoll Dagom theatre company, is coming to the big screen in an exceptional film adaptation. The film, co-produced by 3Cat and the historic theatre company, premiered at the Aribau cinemas in an event that brought together numerous personalities from the world of Catalan culture and audiovisual media. It has been showing in cinemas in Catalonia since 28 November.
Directed by Paulí Subirà, head of imaging at 3Cat, this production has involved the participation of some fifty professionals from 3Cat, who have contributed all their experience and technical resources to offer a proposal that allows the viewer to experience the work from a much more intimate and close-up perspective.
Nine film cameras were used, enabling a 4K HDR production with immersive Dolby Atmos audio.
The immersive part of ‘Mar i cel’ will soon be available on the 3Cat website via Into Reality's immersive web player.

The production is directed by Xavier Bonet, with sound design by Llorenç Gómez, photography by Domènec Gibert and musical direction by Sergi Cuenca. In addition, the soundtrack includes a performance by the Vallès Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sergi Cuenca, with the composer of the work, Albert Guinovart, on piano.
